Katharine Edmond

New York, New York, United States

Katie is an environmental professional and recent graduate of the intensive MPA in Environmental Science and Policy program at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. Throughout the program and her previous work and education experiences, she acted as a communicator, collaborator, and problem-solver in diverse teams on complex problems.

Katie has spoken formally and informally on a wide variety of topics to a wide variety of audiences. Her topics include recycling, renewable energy development, soil texture, and the lives of birds and her audiences range from policymakers and university students to preschool children. This means she is just as comfortable speaking behind a podium next to a PowerPoint presentation as sitting under a tree constructing pinecone birdfeeders. And because of her four years spent as a tour guide at the University of Minnesota, she can also speak while walking backward, should the need arise.

Like all good Minnesotans, Katie enjoys spending time outdoors, cheering on her favorite sports teams through the good and the bad (mostly the bad), and exploring the local music and craft beer scenes, wherever she may be.
