Hello, I’m Katherine, a musicology student, pianist, and researcher living in the Philippines.

I spent most of my childhood in Singapore, I was exposed to different cultures along with music and arts. Before I had my formal training in music, I took ballet and contemporary dance classes since I was amazed with their training when it comes to flexibility and expression. As I went back here to the Philippines last 2011, I told my mum that I want to take piano lessons around the first week of May. A year later, I decided to try figure skating. I trained for 3 ½ years and I realised that this was not for me. So, I continued to focus with my piano lessons.

After I graduated from high school, I made a decision to pursue music and choose Musicology as my major. I also engaged myself in enhancing my research and entrepreneurship skills to become a well-rounded musician. There’s really tons of challenges and obstacles that you will be facing, especially in the musical world since mastering music as an art is not an easy job. It really takes time, patience, and effort if you want your plans and goals to pay off. Honestly, I am excited to enter this journey wherein I’ll be balancing my time as a student and duties for my future business.

I always keep in mind to strive for the best no matter what. It’s a must to practise your art wisely and don’t forget to add some rest as well. Even if life has its ups and downs, respecting your own rhythm is an essential key to being a musician. We have our own pacing as we learn every single day. Keep those harmonious melodies playing, don’t give up!
