For several years I have dehydrated fruit, vegetables and herbs from my home gardens.

Dehydration reduces an apple’s weight by 90%, thereby concentrating the apple flavor. Dehydration leaves all of the apple’s nutrients intact. I have found that certain combinations of spices (including allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and clove), enhance the dried apple’s flavor.

So, I started Katherine's Dried Spiced Apples to give people a healthful, nutritious and interesting snack.
