Katherine Sheppard

Passionate writer, ambitious student and enthusiastic young professional, you can find me writing my way to a better future.

I am currently enrolled in the Public Relations fast-track program at Durham College where myself and my classmates are finishing up our final week participating in classes.

Through my program, I am working as an intern with the AIDS Committee of Durham Region. Myself and a small team were responsible for organizing the second annual "In Her Skin" forum. The event was a great success and service providers were given the tools that they need to feel comfortable when dealing with an HIV positive client.

My passion for communication also transfers into my part-time job. I work as a promotional model with Femme Fatale where I am constantly interacting with important clients and ensuring that they know what products and services that the company has to offer.

Finding balance between school and work have taught me to excel in stressful situations and keep a level head.

When I'm not in school or working, you can find me going to concerts with friends, reading a good book with a cup of coffee, cooking for my family and friends and walking my dog Parker.

I believe that my passion, ambition and enthusiasm will help to bring me great success in the public relations field.
