Kat is the President of Fireborn Institute, a non-profit educational services organization aimed at teaching parents how they can improve the academic lives of their children.

As a side project, Kat visits farms to see how they treat their animals. Kat has decided to only eat meat that has been treated humanely throughout its life. Her blog, Ethical Meating, is dedicated to finding farms that treat their animals well and sharing that knowledge with others.

In her free time, Kat loves to listen to her husband read out loud to her while she snuggles their dog, Lily.
