Katherine Martin

Bass trombonist, Katherine Martin, currently studies at the University of Southern Mississippi with Dr. Ben McIlwain. She can be seen performing all over campus and the town of Hattiesburg with such ensembles as Symphonic Winds, jazz lab band, the trombone choir, HubBones, a jazz trombone group, and the Main Street Baptist Church orchestra.
Prior to moving to Hattiesburg, she attended the University of North Alabama where she studied with Dr. Eddie Elsey, and before her time at UNA, she studied with Billy Bargetzi. She loves working with children of all ages, and is currently an active instructor and staff member of the Petal High School marching band from Petal, Mississippi. She is also oversees many musical and design operations with the Lauderdale County High School marching band, and was a staff member of the Phil Campbell High School band.
Katherine is a native of Huntsville, Alabama, where she performed in many operas, with the Huntsville Youth Orchestra, and throughout the southeast United States.
