Writing has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I was always writing something whether it was short stories or random diary entries. In school, I didn’t really relate well to other students and, in turn, spent a lot of my time isolated from everyone else. Because of this, I never really learned a proper way to express myself through face to face interactions. That is why I turned to reading and writing. Unlike most children who were obsessed with their television shows, my interest always lied with reading. By the time I was eight years old, I had about two bookshelves worth of novellas that I would reread constantly. After a while, though, reading wasn’t enough. I wanted to tell my own stories and make people feel the same way I did when I read. For me, it felt like I was being dragged into the story line. I could experience the feelings of the characters as my own which was why reading quickly became my escape from reality. I quickly found that writing did the same thing for me. The characters I created soon became a part of me and expressed themselves through my fingertips as I typed.

At first, I struggled to create stories. I had general ideas in my mind, but translating them to paper proved to be a difficult challenge. However, I never gave up. Even when writer’s block hit me like a brick wall, I still pushed through. That determination payed off about a year later when I finished my first novel. Now, that same novel is currently being reviewed by Penguin Books and I am typing more stories in my free time.
