She made her clown debut in a Missoula Children’s Theatre production of the musical Stop the World - I Want to Get Off and ten years later graduated from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in Florida.

A degree from the University of Montana School of Journalism led to employment as a reporter, columnist, lobbyist, UPI stringer, and Congressional staffer in Washington, D.C.

She has performed as a featured clown and stilt-walker at Nagasaki Holland Village, Japan; cruised the Inside Passage, repeatedly, as a deckhand on the M/V Spirit of Discovery; and paddled a kayak through sea ice when working summers in Glacier Bay, Alaska.

She met and married her husband while both were company members of Seattle’s Annex Theatre.
