Kathleen Mallory

I am from Redding, California but live in the Houston Texas area. I am a 5th grade dual language/ESL teacher in a large urban district. I am passionate about bilingual education and that all children benefit from being bilingual. In June 2013 I completed my first year of teaching! I am a career changer, so to speak. I went from being a housewife for nearly 20 years, to a student and now to a teaching professionial!!

I have been married nearly 30 years and have 3 grown daughters. My pets are now my children: Wilson Marie my 9 year old dog and my 2 cats. I have a dream of walking a half marathon so I walk 5k's and go to the gym a lot. Exercise keeps me sane and keeps the weight off! Of course, during school I go at 4:30a.m, way to early in the morning! Crazy, I know.

Eventually, after several years of teaching in a classroom I would like to move into Bilingual/Dual language program or curriculum development. Also, I want to relocate back to the west so I see mountains and forest every morning of everyday!!
