Kathy Bostjancic is currently the Director for Macroeconomic Analysis at The Conference Board, responsible for generating the U.S. economic forecast and contributing to a team that produces the global economic outlook. Kathleen oversees and participates regularly in The Conference Board Economics Watch monthly global/U.S. webcast series. She authors the monthly Economics Watch U.S. View which features in-depth special topics. The macroeconomic topics span a variety of subjects ranging from global central bank monetary and fiscal policy to the U.S. housing market to the U.S. consumer balance sheet, consumer spending, global inflation and global labor markets, etc. Kathy has led a research-working group that instructed companies on how to improve their internal business forecasting. Kathy briefs member Fortune 500 firms and larger audiences on the global economic outlook and the impact it could have on their businesses. Kathy is a top economics media spokesperson, appearing in print, television and radio. She is a regular guest on Bloomberg Radio and TV. Kathy is also a director and member of the launch team for The Demand Institute, which is a joint partnership between The Conference Board and Nielsen. The Demand Institutes mission is to illuminate how consumer demand is evolving around the world. She is working with a team of economists from The Demand Institute on modeling dynamics of the U.S. housing at the national, state and MSA levels and providing projections spanning the next five years.
