" Supporting a Brand that Supports Fair Trade"

A copy editor by trade, my passion for communication and new digital forms has landed me in several digital communication positions throughout the years. There is nothing I enjoy more than transforming messages into compelling long and short form articles, posts, and tweets complete with dynamic multimedia images and videos that engage and connect with a consumer. Traveling to workshops and forums occupies a good portion of my time but the interaction with other industry professionals ignites my creativity and ensures I am aware of the latest industry trends, innovative marketing approaches and SEO methodologies. I love exposing myself to immerging technologies that improve functionality and enable me to deliver messages that connect and incite action on the part of the consumer. Words are my first love, and while I have spent a portion of my career in various positions (Director of Social Media, Ecommerce Manager, Marketing Manager) I have always ended up coming back to a position where I create and oversee the dissemination of messages. My diversified portfolio gives me a well rounded perspective on the benefits of the utilization of social media and blogs to further disseminate messages effectively. I know what great multimedia content looks like. Without great content, engagement doesn't happen.

As the Sr. Communication Manager for Bueno Bean Coffee, I typically oversee the creation of product centric media campaigns and the dissemination of those multimedia messages to our various forums (website, blog, social media). Our goal, to create dynamic multimedia content that compels our consumers to purchase our coffee and engage with our brand, hinges on our primary mission to be "A leader in the Fair Trade coffee industry by providing premium coffee and coffee beans sourced from organic Fair Trade certified farms". That mission has recently been extended to include "and the facilitation of the formation of SPO's when and where possible around the world" as a result of a purchasing violation with UNICO that sought to undermine our legitimacy as a Fair Trade company. In response to the crisis, I not only proposed working with UNICO farmers to facilitate the legitimate formation of an SPO but to repair the damage done to our credibility with the purchase from UNICO. I then contacted two high profile bloggers and a media crew to shoot a documentary on the process and blog about the experience. Additionally I established internet connections for the farmers and had several of them lifestream blog the experience, the before, during and after, of SPO creation. Using this dynamic content, we then created engaging social media site posts, blogs and website articles. The well known campaign received recognition on a number of industry sites and the company was recognized by Fair Trade as "Best Partner of the Year" for 2015. Managing brand perceptions and maintaining heat and height is something I specialize in.

Education and continued learning have always been important to me and I am currently working on my MA in Communication at SNHU. While I have over 20 years of experience, I continue to stretch my knowledge base and see collaboration as another opportunity to learn. I like to find efficiencies in process and alternatives for achieving results in better more productive ways. Leading teams, I can be counted on to dissect messaging problems through collaboration and offer solutions that improve engagement and reduce misinformation. I have a proven track record of flexibility, and eye for content and the ability to manage teams in a pressure filled environment.
