Kathleen Miles was born the 7th child in a rural Britton, SD farm family, spared from farm work by older siblings and free to spend her days playing Crazy 8's and Old Maid, climbing trees, and watching clouds from the porch.
She was married at 19 and lost her husband in 2017 after 52 years together. Now 80, she lives in central Washington with her life partner and their two doodle dogs, surrounded by a married daughter, a grown grandson, and a teenage granddaughter.
Her writing draws on this full life, farm roots, decades of marriage, loss, and new beginnings, bringing an honest, lived-in voice to every page.
