Kathleen Murphy
Kathleen Murphy, MD, focuses on minimally invasive treatments in a friendly environment in the New Jersey practice she shares with associates. Certified by the American Board of Urology, Dr. Kathleen Murphy treats conditions including infertility, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, diseases associated with the kidneys, and prostate cancer. With offices in Westfield, Summit, and Rahway, her practice features the most advanced surgical equipment available.
Dr. Kathleen Murphy completed her undergraduate degree at Cornell University in 1977. She studied medicine at Georgetown University and the State University of New York, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine in 1981 with honors in Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Urology. Before establishing her current career in Westfield, New Jersey, she finished extensive postdoctoral training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. During her final year of training, she served as Chief Resident in Urology. Dr. Murphy became a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners in 1982 and achieved board certification in Urology in 1988.
Beyond her career in private practice, Dr. Kathleen Murphy has served as a Clinical Instructor in Urology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She has delivered presentations at the Holy Family Academy in Bayonne, New Jersey, and for the Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Urological Association, Inc. Dr. Murphy co-authored a chapter on Bladder Outlet Obstruction for a urology textbook.
