Hello, my name is Kathy Scarborough. I have been a professional musician and teacher for many years and have returned to my native St. Louis to be closer to my parents and teach sixth grade English Language Arts at the Yeatman-Liddell College Preparatory Middle School. I am still teaching a few violin, viola, and piano students online and am on the music faculty at Centralia College, virtually, in Washington State. I am looking forward to getting private students in St. Louis and renewing my contacts with the music scene.

I am the proud parent of three children, Michael, Sarah, and Charlotte, and grandmother of a lively kindergartenernamed Olivia.

I love working with kids of all ages and playing a wide variety of music. In non-pandemic times, I play with such groups as The Imperial Palms Orchestra (big band) out of Washington, D.C., and the Celtic Spoons Irish Band in Washington State. I do freelance work in New York and Washington, D.C., and am a member of New York Musicians Union Local 802, The American String Teachers' Association, The Academy of American Poets, PEN America, and the American Federation of Teachers Local 8023.

I am working on certification in English and a Masters Degree in Secondary Education at the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
