I am passionate about so many things. Music. Art. Science. Unfortunately, these things do not necessarily align with my skill sets, which are writing, communicating, and helping others. Technical communication is incredibly diverse, allows me to work with people, and gives me the chance to work in fields I'm interested in while using my skill set.

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a minor in Technical Writing in 2006. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Arts program in Professional and Technical Communications at UNT. In this program, I am learning how to effectively edit, write, and design technical documents such as grants, proposals, and instruction manuals. This Master’s program is incredibly hands-on, and all of my projects prepare me for working as a technical communicator. I will complete my MA by August 2016.

I happened upon recruiting a few years ago, and it I have thoroughly enjoyed it. For four years, I served as Senior Recruiter at Tarleton State University. I currently work at the University of North Texas as the Graduate Recruiter and Retention Coordinator for the College of Engineering. I have experience working with undergraduate and graduate students as well as international students. In both of these roles, I have developed promotional materials, web content, and informational documents for students.

Music is my favorite thing, and I go to tons of concerts. I recently purchased a harmonica, and I hope to not be terrible at it sometime soon.
