Kathy Orth

Currently, I am a housewife who is attending Capella University, which is an highly accredited on-line college earning my Ph.D. in Public Safety Leadership. I am writing my dissertation on men who are victims to domestic violence (DV) perpetrated by his intimate partner. Domestic violence is an assualt against both men and women and children, and we, as an educated society, need to get involved and help stop domestic violence, for an example, one of so many many children, Caylee Anthony. There is no greater assault than the assault against a child who cannot defend themself. I chose to research DV against men because they are a population who one hears very little about when it comes to domestic violence. Let's work together to stop DV. My husband and I have five children and four beautiful grandchildren. Besides being active in school, work and church, my husband's father who is 85, and my mother, who is 85 (two weeks difference in age), which we adore and love, lives with us. There is never a dull moment in the Orth household when four adults living together and have four totally different view points and temperments. We attend and are very active in the church, Faith Lutheran Church in Topeka, Kansas. I am currently looking for work, and which most of us who are unemployed, knowing that finding that one job, which does not have to be the "perfect job," is very hard to land. As busy as we are with chuch, family and school, we love to entertain and have that special time with our family and friends. One can never have too much family and too many friends.
