Calgary, Alberta, Canada

I am on a life-long, northward trek.

I grew up in St. George, Utah. When I graduated from high school, I moved 300 miles north to Salt Lake City for university. I received a BS in chemical engineering and took a job at Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho, another 340 miles north. I bought my first house in Boise, met my husband and settled into a career.

In 2013, on a whim (more or less), my husband and I decided to move to Calgary, Alberta. I am now 1900 kilometers from home (using the metric system!) and so far north that I crossed an international border! I am unemployed with a temporary immigration status, slowly piecing together a new life. It's terrifying, heartbreaking and thrilling and it gets better every day!

In a few years, I may be ready to move to the North Pole...
