Katie Siedel

Hello!

My name is Katie Siedel, and I was born and raised in Strongsville, Ohio. I am passionate about the environment and fascinated by the processes and functions of the natural world. I'm 24 years old and a recent graduate (Spring 13) from Humboldt State University with a BS in Environmental Science (Ecological Restoration) and a minor in Hydrology Management.

I have lived in Ohio, Hawaii, California, and Washington. I love to travel, backpack, hike, jog, and take photos.

I worked a field job (June - Sept 13) with the USFS as a botanist conducting rare plant surveys at Colville National Forest in WA. I have lots of volunteer community experience with many local non-profit and government organizations in Humboldt County from planting trees to invasive removal.

This blog you have come across will be about my 2.5 years time spent as a Forestry Extension Agent in Zambia, Africa in the Peace Corps. My program is LIFE (Linking Income with Food and the Environment)
