Currently studying fashion design at the University of Delaware after a long road to declaring this major, I have finally found my creative outlet that I strive to achive in and suceed in my assignments and overcoming the challenges I am presented with. By combining my skill set honed through university courses and my own personal aesthetic, I am able to create beautiful designs where I am proud of both the final end result and the work I put into it.
A designers job is not an easy one. It takes skill, determination and drive to achieve this end result and the positive responses from others.
Many times I have worked tirelessly on design projects. One of these times was during my draping class I designed an evening gown for Emma Watson. I handstitched sections of a beaded netting to the bodice to completely cover it. I spent countless hours handstithing the beaded sections on, but it was worth the lack of sleep when I could show a garment that I was truly proud of.
I want others to see and appreciate the work I have put into my projects but also appreciate my pride in these projects and know that designing and creating is truly what I love. I want to continue to love designing, because without passion one cannot design with their emotions and inspirations. I continue to find inspiration every day and through my greatest passions; traveling and photography. This combination gives me a unique perspective on everything. From finding a new angle and right lighting through the camera lens to experiencing new cultures, my horizons are broadened from these experiences.
They give me a new, unique, and personal vision. One that I value, drives me forward, and gives me direction as an individual and as a designer. Through this unique combination, I find the drive and my philosophy by which I design.
I aspire to use this drive and my sources of inspiration to take me through a successful design career in the fashion industry or in some other unknown field where i might end up. My primary focus right now in fashion however is womens wear. I love working with color design techniques to create femine silhouette, specifically pleats ,but I want to continue to challenge myself in other areas as well.
My main aspiration is to do something I truly enjoy and that challenges me, no matter what field or category. If I am not in a career that is continually improving and challenging me, then I will not be living up to my
