I’ve been collecting various articles and photos from magazines since 1998. Mainly all things fashion related since that is my life’s passion (or so says my monthly student loan payment – the rest of me seemed of miss that memo). In any event, I have notebooks upon notebooks full of information and inspiration – and it’s all just sitting there – hiding out in the guest room closet. In addition, I’ve been searching… for what exactly I don’t know, but I am certainly having the best time trying to find it. I am in the process of reading about 12 books – a chapter here, a chapter there. Lot’s of mushy gushy self help fabulousness that all sounds amazing, but in reality is extremely hard to implement into daily life. And then there are the documentaries, oh the documentaries… Did I mention I also have a child? A fantastic bundle of wonderful named Stella. So much of what I am finding and learning I want her to know. I have so much I want to tell her, so much I want her to learn and understand before she is lost in the awfulness that is middle school. I know I can’t prevent the hardships or the insecurities, but I want her to have a place to find some answers, or at the very least, an entertaining place to look. So here’s the deal, I am writing it all down for her – and let’s be completely honest – for me too. Things I am learning but so quickly forget. Gems of wisdom that turn on my “aha” light bulb, which is then immediately turned off at the first sign of spit up on the carpet or the oh so quick ending to the lunch hour. I am on information overload - it started oozing out of my ears last Tuesday. It needs a home – a safe place to land. There’s no formula, no exact theme, just, you know…. what I’ve been thinking…
