I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts. I have always enjoyed attending concerts. I decided in early high school that I wanted to work in a music venue as an Event Coordinator or an Event Manager. I chose to attend Johnson & Wales University majoring in Sports/Entertainment/Event Management. I took on an extra course load in order to graduate almost a year early.
I have well-rounded knowledge in the Hospitality and Entertainment Industries, as well as in-depth knowledge of general management, marketing, promotions, merchandising, facilities operations, and customer service.
During college, I gained experience through events held at the University. I have done a concert, a trade show, a press conference, a wedding, and a fundraiser basketball tournament. At the concert I was responsible for talent recruitment and management. I created the concert schedule including set times, talent arrival times, and the artist line-up. I then organized a press conference for the concert. I created promotional materials such as flyers and pamphlets. I worked with my team to secure a location and press invitations. I was in charge of getting the artists to and from the press conference on time. There were around 30 people who attended the press conference. I organized a trade show where I found vendors in the city and brought them in for a "Sweet Spots in Providence" trade show for the University. In my Weddings & Ceremonies class I was given a bride with a $37,000 budget and a list of her wishes. I planned and budgeted out her wedding and provided her with a binder with a location, schedule, menu, decor, transportation, and hospitality accommodations for her guests along with a budget displaying every expense of the wedding. Finally, one of the events that I am most proud of was the fundraiser basketball tournament. I was responsible for tournament logistics. I designed and managed brackets, coordinated four referees, and created court schedules. I managed a "Logistic" team of 6 members before and during the event. I am proud to say the tournament rose over $12,000 for a family with a boy who was terminally ill.
I have worked at the Dunkin Donuts Center, Providence Performing Arts Center, and the Middle East Restaurant & Nightclub to expand my experience and knowledge in the Entertainment Industry. I just recently completed a General Management internship at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA.
