Driven by her desire to help others, Katie Jafari provides mental health counseling services to adults, adolescents, and children. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York, she currently works in the Buffalo area. Katie Jafari’s experience includes delivering crisis counseling and outreach services to minors at Spectrum Human Services and serving as a social worker at Child & Adolescent Treatment Services.
Since October of 2012, Ms. Jafari has served as a social worker at Lake Shore Behavioral Health. The organization offers multiple outpatient programs for adults and adolescents, including mental health, substance abuse, and recovery services. Serving the Western New York area, Lake Shore Behavioral Health also provides residential treatment for women dealing with substance abuse, as well as vocational services.
In her position at the organization, Ms. Jafari holds responsibility for evaluating her clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral conditions. She then works closely with them to develop effective treatment plans for their specific mental or emotional disorders. Ms. Jafari is experienced in not only working one-on-one with clients but also leading therapy sessions for couples and families. In accordance with Lake Shore’s treatment approach, she focuses on providing individualized care that positively impacts clients’ quality of life.
Prior to starting her career in social work, Katie Jafari completed undergraduate studies in Social Work and Psychology at Buffalo State College. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the institution in 2003. She went on to attend the University at Albany-SUNY and received a Master of Social Work the following year. Ms. Jafari is currently working towards obtaining state credentials as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
