Katie Jensen is a story editor and sound designer specializing in audio storytelling around human rights, justice, and gender-based violence. She has worked on Rights Back At You (Amnesty International), Healing Comes in Waves (Toronto Metropolitan University), No Little Plans (Community Foundations of Canada) and Moonshot (Equality Fund), crafting narratives and soundscapes that center survivor and marginalized voices.

As principal of Vocal Fry Studios, a Toronto-based podcast company, Katie creates original shows for media organizations, nonprofits, and brands. Her body of work includes CBC Podcasts, The Globe and Mail, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, Indigo, David Suzuki Foundation, and Brain Canada.

She has served as a contract lecturer at the School of Journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University and has mentored emerging creators at the Transmedia Zone. She has spoken at Hot Docs Podcast Festival, Atlantic Podcast Summit, World Radio Day, and Pop Montreal.

Within her craft, she prioritizes unconventional sonic elements that immerse and evoke emotion, seeks out difficult subject matter, and chooses projects that challenge her to learn and grow as a storyteller.
