Katie Kavadellas
Born and raised in the sweet South, I was born on December 30, 1993, and I have lived in the same house, in the same room, in Woodstock, Georgia, for my entire life. While half of my family is extremely southern, the other half is one hundred percent Greek, which makes for some very interesting holidays! I was that person eating lamb at Christmas while my large family yelled at each other in Greek from across the table. A bit overwhelming at times, but I would not trade it for the world. I have been blessed with two wonderful parents, who blessed me with two wonderful sisters. I am definitely guilty of having the middle child sydrome, and I am the oddball in my family, being the only one with bright blonde hair and blue eyes.
I have a passion for horses, and I have been riding since the second grade. My parents bought me my first horse when I was in the fifth grade, and I have had him ever since. He is like family to me, and I can not imagine my life without horses in it! Another thing I am passionate about is photography. Ever since I was young I enjoyed taking pictures. It started off with nature, and gradually progressed into portraits of people. I did countless senior portraits for people at my highschool and I have continued to take pictures here at UGA. Alongside still photography, in high school I developed an interest for filming and have gradually been perfecting my skills in that field as well.
Here at the University of Georgia, I plan to major in Biological Sciences, and I hope to persue medical school there after. I have a passion for working with kids, so the plan as of right now is to become a Pediatric Oncologist. While I am fully aware it will be hard work, this is something I am very dedicated to and determined to achieve. I know that with hard work I can achieve my goals, but I also plan to enjoy my time here in Athens and make the most out of my time in college!
