Katie O'Dell

Katie O’Dell informs and inspires outdoor adventure across the country. As an editor for Falcon Guides, she discovers new voices and works with legendary hikers, climbers, skiers, guides, and coaches to publish the most respected outdoor recreation books on the market.

Katie began her career in community journalism. The defining through-line of her work is connecting people with stories. As an acquisitions editor, she develops book concepts and works with authors to bring valuable information to readers in marketable, interesting packages.

She brings that eye for story to public relations. Publics can unite behind a strong narrative, and Katie sees public relations as the work of defining an organization’s story, and sharing it with publics to inspire action and align goals for the common good.

When Katie is not studying or editing, she’s reading novels with her cat close by, out hiking with her husband and dog, or practicing yoga.
