Katie Stone

Hello all! I'm Katie, a California native who is currently pursuing a career in international education. After receiving my BA in psychology from Sonoma State University, I joined AmeriCorps and volunteered two years of my time to running a tutoring and after school program at a Title I elementary school. I knew I had found my passion in education. But the travel bug in me was hesitant to settle down and start a career in CA. So I thought I would try teaching abroad.

After teaching ESL in South Korea and Hong Kong, I knew that international education was the place for me. I recently started a graduate program at George Mason University that specializes in international academia, and moved to Changchun, China to begin my first year teaching in a PYP classroom. Teaching in an international school will be a great learning experience, and I look forward to the new adventures Changchun will bring.
