Katie Swit

Hi everyone, my name is Katie and I just recently graduated from a five year Concurrent Education program with Wilfrid Laurier University and Nipissing University. I have been hired as a Occasional Teacher with the HWCDSB and the BHNCDSB.

When I first envisioned myself as a teacher I was drawn to the primary division as my teaching method and creativity caters to that developmental age. However, I was pursuing my French teachable to become a Core French teacher which, would have me teaching grades 4-8. I figured it would be best to receive my qualifications in the J/I divisions.

Although my time as a French teacher has been limited to these older grades, I also provide daily coverage of Planning and Prep Time to primary classroom teachers. I have instructed Science, Health and Phys. Ed. to primary grades. I look forward to continuing to learn new techniques and strategies to use in all classrooms. I embrace the opportunity to learn from your long cultivated knowledge in education and look forward to sharing experiences and expertise in our discussions.
