Katie Tarrant

My name is Katie Tarrant. I am a 19-year old guitarist who is currently studying at Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

I have been playing guitar for approximately five years, and also play bass and a bit of drums. I compose my own songs/soundtracks, generally alongside other bands, and have a range of performance experience which I hope to extend throughout my education at LIPA.

Outside of music, I am also a freelance journalist and creative writer. I work for several websites and magazines, including work experience at Kerrang! and Terrorizer, and hope to pursue this as a sideline to my career.

My career aspirations are within the realms of music. I aim to be a session musician and everything I do inside of my course at present is for the purpose of building towards that goal. However, I also plan to do gigs and guitar/music theory lessons on the side, as well as extend my knowledge in music production with hopes of one day starting my own management and production company.
