Katie comes to us from the Midwest and with years’ of experience in the marketing field. She started as a Marketing Assistant at Holiday Stationstores, a retail chain, and then as a Marketing Specialist at I.B.I.S. Inc., a software company on the East coast. Katie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications: Public Relations from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

After moving to San Francisco, Katie secured her current and full-time position as a Marketing Project Manager at the Institute on Aging, a non-profit dedicated to preserving the dignity, independence, and well-being of aging adults and people living with disabilities. In the two years Katie has spent in the non-profit sector, she quickly became interested in learning how she could help her community even further. Rowena Fontanos, her friend and confidant, pitched her the mission and opportunity of The Purse Project, and she couldn’t wait to be a part of it.

Since November 2016, Katie has taken on the role as board member and secretary to help spread the word about the mission and needs of The Purse Project; striving to fulfill non-profit organizations wish list needs, so non-profits can focus and continue to support the communities they serve.

In her spare time she enjoys eating, travelling, eating and spending time with her family (especially her new niece), oh yeah, and eating Shabu-shabu.
