Katlyn Polley

Hello, my name is Katlyn Polley. I was born in Ajax, ON in 1998. I grew up in a household with my parents and my two younger brothers. Growing up my mother ran a daycare from our home which meant that from a young age I was surrounded by children. I have always loved to play sports and music. I have always enjoyed both learning as well as teaching. My first jobs were babysitting and teaching swimming lessons in my backyard.

Ever since I can remember I wanted to be a teacher. I can remember playing school with my friends and I always wanted to be the teacher because I thought that it was the best and coolest job in the entire world. In elementary school my love of languages was evident I wanted to learn as many languages as I could. This love of languages followed me into high school where I found my love for the French language.

For this reason, I pursued this love and I am currently obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in French as a second language at Laurentian University and I am in the concurrent education program which means that I am obtaining a Bachelor of Education as well. Throughout this program we have had the opportunity to go into a classroom and I am extremely excited to continue working in schools and working towards becoming the best teacher that I can be. Working with children is my passion and I cannot see myself pursuing any other career because there is nothing else in the entire world that I want to do.
