Katriina Tahka
Sydney, Australia
A globally recognised diversity and inclusion strategist, advisor, facilitator and coach. I enjoy working with leadership teams and individuals to unlock true organisational transformation and cultural change.
I have a unique breadth and depth of experience with a career spanning 20 years across employment law, workplace relations, line HR in global infrastructure, talent management, leadership and diversity and inclusion.
I believe that every person has an interesting story to share and a unique perspective. By listening and understanding to each other we can break down bias and prejudices that currently slow down our ability to create truly inclusive workplaces and a society in which everyone can equally participate.
My passion comes from my own identity and heritage.
I self identify as an Australian Born Finn and am proud that my children also see themselves as having a bilingual and tricultural heritage yet are quintessentially Australian.
I enjoy public speaking and am often asked to talk about cultural awareness, cross cultural capabilities, gender diversity and diversity strategies and implementation.
A particular career highlight has been my involvement with the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations.
I was thrilled to be invited to address the 4th Annual Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations (UNAOC) in Doha, Qatar about intercultural dialogue, inclusion and diversity and again at the Regional Forum of the UNAOC in Shanghai.
I love being able to inspire people to think differently and to see other perspectives.
I believe that the shared ideas of many are more potent than the views of one.
