Katrina McCormick presently practices law in the Fort Lauderdale area through her employment at the Florida Office of the Attorney General.

Ms. McCormick is a May 2012 law school graduate, earning her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, located in Gulfport, Florida. In May 2009, Ms. McCormick earned her B.A. degree from the University of Central Florida, where she double majored in Political Science and Interpersonal/Organizational Communication.

While in law school, Ms. McCormick pursued elective coursework in public interest law, specifically in the areas of family law, children and the law, and adoption law. Devoted to helping those who are in need, Ms. McCormick provided pro bono assistance in her community throughout law school, and was recognized with the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award at graduation.

Ms. McCormick has also acquired work experience in a variety of settings focused on helping children, families, and the public at large. She has further developed her advocacy skills through recent internship and fellowship placements including the Children and Families Clinic at Nova Southeastern University, Florida's Children First, the Florida Office of the Attorney General Children's Legal Services Division in Hillsborough County, and the Washington D.C. Office of the U.S. Senate for former Florida Senator Mel Martinez.
