Kat Wiles

Received my BSc from Humboldt State University in Ecology (Spring 2014). Heading to University of Michigan this summer to pursue a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. My research will be primarily focused on the microbial ecology of microbial communities inhabiting microplastics in the Great Lakes and Oceans.

During my undergrad, I focused my research efforts on studying horizontal gene transfer of housekeeping genes among thermoacidophiles in Lassen Volcanic National Park.
