"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." -Coco Chanel
For as long as I can remember I have had a love for all things creative, even as a child I spent most of my time surrounded by crayons, paints and PVA glue! It was therefore natural for me to begin my degree in Fashion Design and Communication at Birmingham Institue of Art and Design (BIAD) where I graduated with a 2:1. My degree opened my mind to just how much fashion influences the world, how it truly is a form of art and expression not merely just clothes. I chose communication as my final year pathway which meant I specialised in graphic design, styling and trend prediction.
During my degree and after garduation I worked as a Visual Merchandiser for Topshop. A hugely creative role which dealt mainly with the identifying of new trends, and of course making sure the store was visually perfect. Outfit building, colour story creating, and the ability to think outside the box was essential for this role. I am currently working as a Media and Marketing Associate which mainly deals with designing of brochures, leaflets, newsletters, managing of social media platforms, and the implementation of marketing strategies and campaigns. I am looking for a career in a creative role whereby I can use all the skills I have gained over the years and push myself further.
I started this blog as an outlet for all my creative thoughts and interests. With a love for Photoshop, Graphic Design and layout a Fashion blog seemed like the ideal solution. I spend alot of my time looking at blogs and design websites and its truly inspirational how the internet can inspire us, I just hope my blog can inspire people too!
