Katya Roelse

I am a freelance fashion designer and teacher. I earned my Master’s degree in Fashion Design at Drexel University. During my graduate studies I took an interest in costume, eveningwear, and tailoring, and earned the Lilly Pulitzer Award for Most Creative Graduate Collection. After working for custom bridal and Nicole Miller clients, I briefly designed mens' shirts for my own label before overseeing design and production at SA VA, ultimately helping to garner numerous awards for the company. Four years later, I teach at the University of Delaware and Moore College of Art and Design, I write a blog about my fashion experiences, and consult for apparel companies dedicated to sustainability. In 2015 I was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Madrid to lecture on sustainability, trend forecasting, and branding.
