Kathleen Barclay is Senior Vice President of Human Resources for The Kroger Co. The Company employs 375,000 associates who serve customers in more than 3,700 Supermarkets, Convenience and Jewelry Stores under two dozen names. Kroger also operates 38 U.S. food processing plants.

Katy is responsible for leading all Human Resources functions across the company, including leadership development, talent development, succession planning, associate engagement, and total rewards.

Before joining Kroger in 2010, Katy served as the vice president of Global Human Resources for the General Motors Corp. During her time with GM, she led the automaker’s Global Human Resources organization with a strong focus on building the company’s strategic HR capability worldwide, redesigning domestic health care and pension programs, organizational restructuring in mature markets, and building a strong footprint in emerging and growth markets.

Katy earned a bachelor’s degree in Business at Michigan State University and an MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

She was inducted into the National Academy of Human Resources in 2000 and currently serves as chair on the Academy’s Board of Directors. Katy also serves on the Board for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. She is a three-time recipient of Automotive News’ 100 Leading Women and has been named to Human Resource Executive magazine’s HR Honor Roll. In 2013, Katy was the recipient of the YWCA’s Career Woman of Achievement Award.
