Hema Kaura

Hi, I’m Hema. I’m a mother living in London, ON, Canada. This is my 15th year teaching in a fairly large highschool in London. I love my school, it is incredibly diverse and the course selection is fantastic. I teach in the social sciences, and deal with current issues on a daily basis. This is why I chose the voter registration option when designing this page. Teacher students about voter awareness matters a lot to me.

I took my guidance part 1 last spring, and absolutely loved it. I would love to be a guidance councillor some day, but if it doesn't work out, I know the information gained will help my everyday teaching practice. My specific interests within guidance are dealing with counselling students of various cultural backgrounds, and counselling student who identify as LGBTQ.

In my free time I love being a mom to 2 kids, travelling and going on local hikes. I look forward to working with all of you!
