I am experienced in community development, dementia, advocacy and mental health and am a textile artist.
I am engaged in two projects at the moment.
Community - Knit a Year This is a daily practice – whereby I knit my moods each day by completing a minimum of two rows of 10 stitches. I connect with other participants via a ning network where we share photos, reflections and ideas. Knit a Year is an open project and you can join at any time.
Personal – I am investigating the impact of c-ancer on mind, body and soul. I am interested in the residual impact of cancer – what it means to live in the light and shadow of the experience. I am revisiting kept messages, notes, textiles and collected objects from the time i was diagnosed and had treatment. I am blogging short texts and a series of photographs here.
I am interested in working with individuals and communities on topics such as wellbeing, advocacy, mental health and dementia. I can design bespoke workshops for individuals or groups, curate a community show, show up as an artist in residence. Do get in touch if you are interested in having a conversation about developing a project or a one-off workshop, I would love to hear from you.
