About Me

Kaydx (Kaydx/any pronouns) founded Dagbasi Productions on Juneteenth 2020 to actualize stories that inspire empathy and challenge social consciousness.

Kaydx is a proud Black & First-Generation Nigerian, Queer, Trans, COVID-conscious, multimedia Storyteller from da sweet Souf.

Kaydx latest short, Pink & Blue (Best Narrative Short – Seattle Translations; Audience Awards; Best Short Screenplay - LGBT Toronto) was a Black Public Media Fund & ScreenCraft Film Fund 2020 Finalist, earned a Best Narrative Short nomination at the Academy Award ® Qualifying Pan African Film Festival and premiered on Tubi to 33+ million monthly viewers.

Kaydx won the Best Director Award at iHolly for Divine’s directorial debut short film, Her First Kill, which has been adapted into a pilot for a limited series called unalive. The pilot was also a Sundance and Outfest Episodic Lab 2020 Finalist.

Divine was a Screenwriting Artist-in-Residence at The Lark/New York Stage and Film and one of Kaydx short screenplays was chosen for the BRIC Black Box Filmmaking Intensive in 2020. ẹmi has several more projects in development.

As an actor, Kaydx has performed Off-Broadway, regionally and can be seen on CBS ALL ACCESS, HBO and Netflix. Divine is also a Drama Desk Award Winner and graduate of The University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program and the Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts.
