Student and Volunteer in Kent, WA

I’m a student at UW Bothell, majoring in Health Studies. I am from Kent, Washington, but I have been living in Bothell for the past 3 years. I love traveling to new cities and trying new foods and hanging out with my dogs. There are currently four dogs in my house so its always loud and lively here.

As if four dogs weren't enough, I enjoy volunteering at the Regional Animal Services of King County. As a volunteer, I help to provide compassionate care by walking the dogs at the shelter. I hope to be able to volunteer in the vet clinic soon. Although it is sad when I don't get to see some of my favorite dogs when I come to walk them, I am extremely grateful that they have been adopted into loving families.

My passion ultimately is to become a veterinary technician. I want to work with animals to improve their health and alleviate their pain. I also want to help pet owners going through challenging pet illnesses or conditions. Growing up with so many pets has allowed me to develop a strong connection with animals. Animals deserve to have a voice and I believe that it is up to us to advocate for them. I plan on going to school to become nationally accredited as a veterinary technician after I graduate this spring.
