Kayla Nowak

My name is Kayla Nowak and I am a self-driven, hard-working, competitive person. I enjoy exploring the great outdoors, staying fit, food, Pinterest, HGTV, playing with my dog Danny boy, and did I mention food?

I graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with a Management focus, and a minor in Communications. I also had the amazing opportunity to be a part of the women's varsity volleyball team where I was a two time captain and an All-American my Junior and Senior year. Not only have I developed valuable skills like teamwork, time management, and leadership, I have also gained lifelong friendships that I am forever grateful for.

Currently, I am working for Valley Electric as a Project Engineer where I have worked on some really awesome high-profile jobs such as Google, Expedia, and Microsoft. I have been in the construction industry for 6 years and am loving every bit of it. My favorite aspect of the electrical discipline is lighting, which is typically everyone's least favorite part of a job. I love learning and problem-solving, and the new innovations and technologies the lighting industry continues to come up with each year, allows me an opportunity to learn something new every time I work on a lighting package for a project. I also find it fascinating how lighting can completely alter the mood and feel of a space.

While I love the industry I am in and enjoy the work I do, I am always open to new opportunities and willing to make a change if it means an chance for self-exploration and growth!
