Kayla Peterson

Kayla Peterson is 21 years old and is an undergraduate senior at Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania. Her major is History with minors in Communications and Art History. Her goal one day is to be an exhibit coordinator for an Ancient Mediterranean art collection. In high school, Kayla was an honor roll student and participated in clubs and societies including the National Honors Society, Tri-M Music Honors Society, and captained a Relay for Life team for multiple years. In 2007, after her mother's death and subsequent achievement of maintaining good grades and developing a cancer awareness club and Relay for Life team, Kayla was awarded the Most Outstanding Youth of Shrewsbury Award.
At university, Kayla was asked to apply and ultimately accepted to study abroad her freshman year in Stirling, Scotland. Her experiences abroad, both socially and academically, allowed her to gain a further sense of respect and maturity in her life. Her job on campus is a member of the Art Department and Art gallery staff where she is tasked with various jobs and is proud to be a part of the team that brings renowned artists' works to the campus.
As an honors student, Kayla has received the fortune of being on the Distinguished Deans List and received a 4.0 last semester while abroad for a second time in Perugia, Italy. In Italy, Kayla was able to study the art and history of the ancient Italian people and continue her passion on the subject hands-on. Kayla hopes that she will either continue her studies as a graduate student in Public History or will be gaining experience in a museum setting.
