Kayla Sutton is a B.S. candidate for Pharmaceutical Science at North Carolina Central University. She began her studies at NCCU in 2013 and her expected graduation date is in May of 2018. Kayla has contributed to Dr. John E. Scott research that is focused on developing chemical biology approaches to the discovery of small molecules as probes and drug leads for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She is also a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering. ISPE is the world’s largest not-for-profit association serving its members through leading scientific, technical, and regulatory advancement across the entire pharmaceutical lifecycle. After graduation, Kayla plans to attend a Physician Assistant program at Emory University or Georgetown University. Her goal is to become an OB/GYN Physician Assistant that specializes in labor and delivery. Currently, Kayla works alongside Ginger Smith in BRITE conducting and following several scientific experiments to isolate drug targets for potential drug therapy.
