Kayla Danielson

Analyst, Mother, and Student

Hello, I am Kayla. I have worked for the State of California and local city departments for 11 years. I have mainly stayed in the first responder field; however, I am currently a Licensing Program Analyst with the California Department of Social Services. I have worked as a 911 dispatcher/clerk for local police and fire departments, as well as for the California Highway Patrol in the administration field and at CalFire as a law enforcement analyst. Before diving into state work, I was a preschool teacher on top of a high school volleyball coach and went to school for early childhood education.

Returning to school as a full-time student with the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) has been challenging yet rewarding. I am eager to continue improving myself and have a passion for leadership. I aim to be a Director for one of the analytical units with the state. I am eager to learn new skills in Business Communication and build upon my tools to utilize as I progress toward my career path. It will be a big part of my chosen path, and I want to build one of the best analytical units within the state.

Outside of school and work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am married to my best friend, and we have two teenagers, one boy and one girl. We live in a little town located in Northern California. That small-town feel is something we cherish, from the Friday night lights to the walks to the park. Our family enjoys making memories and building a life we love together. We have the mountains to the east, the ocean to the west, and if we are feeling wild and want to endure the big town feel, we have the Bay area just a few hours south.
