“Every day the sun won’t shine, but that’s why I love tomorrow.” – Gloria Hallelujah. This quote reflects the optimism that has guided me through my college journey.

I've attended three different schools in my college career. I began at Shaw University in fall 2019, but it didn’t feel like home. In spring 2020, I transferred to GTCC in Greensboro. After my freshman year, I took a gap year to figure out how to balance adult life and determine what I truly wanted. That break helped me realize that education is a priority for me. As a first-generation college student, I was determined to carve out my own path.

Now, I’m a proud student at Winston-Salem State University, where I plan to graduate in 2025. Since enrolling in fall 2021, I’ve earned my Marketing Design certification in summer 2023 and have participated in four internships—one through The Washington Center, another at a local news station in Greensboro, and a marketing internship in Charlotte.

My community involvement is important to me. Since 2009, I’ve been part of the N.C. Divas Bookbag Drive, and since 2019, I’ve participated in the Clean Roads Project. I aim to continue giving back, both on and off-campus.

Majoring in Mass Communication and minoring in Marketing, my goal is to become a radio personality or TV host. My passion for connecting with people drives me toward this career. I want to break stereotypes, showing that an educated, bold, and vibrant Black woman can have a strong, confident voice in media. My minor in marketing will support me in building my personal brand or elevating the brands I work with in the future.
