I was born in Chicago. I have always loved swimming - I started taking lessons before I could walk, at 6 months old, and then joined one of Chicago's best swim clubs when I was 9. I had swim practice 5 times a week and swam in many city and regional competitions year round. Although swimming is my favorite sport, I also played lacrosse, ice hockey, basketball, and baseball througout my childhood. I was a pretty good pitcher on my little league baseball team, it was my favorite position. I have two younger brothers, Jake, who is 12 and Finn who is 6. Our family is an intersting ethnic mix - my mom is Polish and my dad is Indian. We've always celebrated various Indian and Polish holidays and eaten many ethnic foods. My parents still speak their native languages and my grandparents oberve various Polish and Indian customs, while me and my brothers are Athiests and Pindian.

After I finished 7th grade at The Latin School of Chicago, I left the United States and moved to Curitiba, Brazil, because of my dad's job. Although I still miss parts of my life back in Chicago, like my old neighborhood and my many childhood friends, I like living here.
