Hi! My name is Kayla and I am a current student at The Ohio State University.

My top 5 StrengthsQuest Strengths are: Restorative, Developer, Includer, Arranger and Relator. After discovering my strengths, I understood why Restorative was my top strength. I'm known for always being able to solve problems no matter how challenging. Personally, the more challenging the better! I love being able to see a problem and coming up with different ways to find the solution. Even if I have to physically break down each part of the situation, it allows me to open my mind up and come up with creative solutions. I think my Restorative strength will definitely come in handy when I become a Physical Therapist in the future. I feel that being Restorative allows me to get closer with my patients to discover their problems and be able to solve them whether it be physical or mental.

My favorite Ohio State tradition is when everybody joins together to sing Carmen Ohio. Carmen Ohio is the official school anthem of The Ohio State University. This is my favorite tradition because it allows people of all ages and backgrounds to unify on one solid point. As a freshman here at OSU, I have witnessed people as young as 5 and as old as 86 sing Carmen Ohio with such honor. Not only do I like that we sing it together, but I like how we have to link arms or put our arms on each other’s shoulders and rock side to side. It allows us to create that special bond shared between everyone. Singing Carmen Ohio makes me happy every time because I get to meet new people and bond with others who share the same pride for Ohio State as I do.

As I was growing up, I was always taught to strive for the best. No matter what it was, my parents told me to do whatever I want to the best of my abilities. If something went wrong, they motivated me to always find a solution to the problem. They pushed me to be the best I could be, both in and outside of school. I chose to come to Ohio State because I felt that this school would give me that challenging environment that would push me to strive for the best no matter what came in my way. The environment here at Ohio State is perfect for me both academically and personally because although the school work is challenging, there’s people here on campus that are willing to take that challenge with me and help me out when needed. It helps me to internalize my past environment, and motivates me to create even a better environment for my future
