Kayle Watson
Competitive Rower, Charity Volunteer, and Street Artist in Chappaqua, New York
To say Kayle Watson enjoys Math would be an understatement. He studied college-level classes as a junior in high school, including AP Physics and AP Bio. Kayle will take two AP Math courses and one AP Science class in the following months as a senior. Kayle is also involved in STEM programs, including Engineering and Math. At his high school, he manages a STEM group and mentors others within the club.
Kayle can be found at the Maritime Rowing Club when he isn't at school. In preparation for Naval Academy and beyond, Rowing has taught Kayle the importance of working as a team, treating everyone with equal respect, and pushing himself beyond his physical and mental limits. As a part of a club that is known for producing world-class rowers, Kayle works with instructors who are dedicated to helping other experienced and recreational rowers improve their skills. He is part of a program that has produced numerous athletes who have gone on to compete at the international level. During the winter, he trains in an indoor tank. Kayle Watson enjoys playing various kinds of games and activities, such as art, which is his favorite pastime.
One of his favorite forms of art is street art, which he enjoys because it gives him the freedom to express himself and has the ability to raise awareness about certain social issues. Around the world, countries have been using this type of art for centuries. When he travels to a new city, he often finds local art at street fairs.
Besides participating in sport and academic activities, Kayle is also heavily involved in various charitable organizations. One of his favorite organizations is the K9 Fund, which was established by a former special warfare operator and handler of a dog who was killed while saving his life. This non-profit organization was established to raise awareness about the importance of having a canine companion.
