KAYODE FATOBA

Currently studying Health Science at Simon Fraser University, Kayode’s involvement in the university community has resulted in a myriad of platforms. The most notable trait is his passion for entrepreneurship. His entrepreneurial story however didn’t start at the university level. A recipient of the TD Community Leadership Scholarship worth up to $70,000 for his hard work within the Jane and Finch community. He developed programs with the Toronto Police, founded soccer programs for youths in his neighborhood out-of-pocket, and even secured mobile computers from Toronto Transit Commission for a mobile computer program enabling low income families to have Open Access to resources necessary for school work, professional development and more. He even started an Hospital project in Ekiti, Nigeria! Leaving Toronto and attending University allowed him to expand his vision. A Medical School Candidate? From Founding SFU African Students Association, bouncing back from organizing SFU's first large scale event for Peace Day, controversially ending with media exchange with K'Naan. Taking the blame as a Leader should. Standing on Stage in front of Thousands of students to convey the message, he immersed himself in his ideas. He founded SFU Fashion Week. After a Startup Weekend at UBC, he pioneered one of SFU's First Greek Organizations, Alpha Kappa Psi. The world's Premiere Professional Business Fraternity! From executing SFU’s Got Talent to volunteering his time where needed, It would come as no surprise that his community just like Toronto, elected Kayode as the first Vice President of Student Life for the Simon Fraser Student Society. As VP he was able to manage a million dollar organization, develop even greater opportunities, and learn operations and management. Though he was 5K short of K'naan, his Graduation yacht party in 3 years grew from 1 into a 3 day mini SXSW comparison headlined by WalshyFireXMajorLazer with hugely positive media attention. LLIV had job opportunities for students on day 1 which brought in Ernest & Young, TEDXVancouver, Mercedes Benz and more, even had a concert at Canada's Historic Malkin Bowl. The event grew alongside his second Startup, Skynation. A digital media consultancy putting Africa Online. A student by day, powering AEAwards, ABForum, NEAAwards, e.t.c by night, the startup quietly works on their technology. As graduation draws near, he remarks "his new focus is not Med School but the Next36".
