Located in the northeastern state of Assam, Kaziranga National Park is one of India’s most celebrated wildlife sanctuaries, renowned for its success in conserving the endangered one-horned rhinoceros. Spread across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, the park spans over 800 square kilometers of lush grasslands, wetlands, and tropical forests.

Established in 1905 as a reserve forest and declared a World Heritage Site in 1985, Kaziranga is home to the world's largest population of one-horned rhinos, along with significant populations of Asian elephants, Bengal tigers, wild water buffaloes, and swamp deer. The park is also recognized as an Important Bird Area (IBA), attracting numerous migratory and resident bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatchers.
